Mareeba Family Fun Day
September 10 @ 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Join us for Mareeba’s annual Family Fun Day as we celebrate Queensland Child Protection Week 2026 on Thursday 10 September 2026 from 3:00pm – 5:30pm at Arnold Park, Mareeba. Mareeba Community Centre and VPG are proud to partner once again with local organisations, schools and community groups to deliver this free community event.
This year’s Child Protection Week theme,“Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversation to Action,” highlights the important role we all play in creating safe, supportive environments where children and young people can thrive. The event provides an opportunity for families to connect with local services, learn about available supports, and explore practical ways our community can work together to give every child the best possible start.
Families can enjoy an afternoon of free entertainment, interactive activities, face painting, balloon animals, a petting zoo, a sausage sizzle and much more. Local organisations will host engaging activities for children while sharing positive messages about child safety, wellbeing, resilience, belonging and connection.
Family Fun Day encourages meaningful conversations that lead to positive action for children and families. Through fun, play and community connection, we aim to strengthen awareness of local services and ensure families know where to turn for support when they need it.
With more than 600 people attending in previous years, Family Fun Day has become a valued community event that brings together local services, schools, families and community members to celebrate children and promote a safer, stronger community for all.
