QCPW Community Family Fun Day 2026

September 9 @ 1:30 pm 4:30 pm

The 2026 Queensland Child Protection Week (QCPW) event will promote the theme “Protecting Children is Everybody’s Business” and the main event will be held in Caboolture. Key organisations (Lutheran Services, TAFE Qld, Mercy Community Services, Play Matters, Child and Youth Mental Health Service, Create Foundation, Younity , Kummara and Department of Education) with an extensive history of collaboration through the Moreton Bay Local Level Alliance, Family Support Collective, and Moreton Bay Child and Family Network, take pride in working together to offer high-quality support throughout the region. In previous years, this expo has been highly successful and reached over 200 families and young people in the Moreton Bay community, opening avenues of conversation with services and linking families with support services they were unaware could be accessed.

The 2026 QCPW expo will be free and interactive with services set up providing information and fun activities with qualified staff interacting with children, young people and families. This QCPW event will also target and support our First Nations and LGBTIQPA+ communities.

At the event, every child and young person will be provided a “passport” inviting them (in the company of their parent/carer) to frequent and interact with services hosting information stalls in order to collect stamps. Once the passport is completed, it is included as an entry in the prize raffle. These interactions will provide an opportunity to discuss and promote the importance of child safety with families attending the event, while gathering service information and engaging in fun child-safe activities throughout the afternoon. These discussions will raise awareness of protective behaviours within the family unit and promote quality family time, creative exploration, health and nutrition, self-care and literacy. Stall holders will also have a holistic collection of resources created by the partnering organisations includes a variety of activities for families to participate in.

There will be a variety of entertainment and activities throughout the event for all ages including face painting, balloon making, and entertainment where any child or young person can participate.
