Since 2003 the Sunshine Coast Regional Child Protection Week Committee has conducted an annual Professional Development / Community Partnerships Day which addresses a range of topics relevant to the area of child protection. One of the key aims of this activity is to contribute to building individual and agency capacity to respond more effectively to child protection concerns and challenges identified as being especially relevant to the Sunshine Coast community.
At these annual events a range of passionate and highly regarded professionals and community members have delivered high quality keynote addresses and professional presentations on a diverse range of child protection related interventions and initiatives.
Each year a different focus area is identified to guide the section of presenters and topics. The 2018 event will incorporate child protection topics which have a particular relevance to the indigenous community context.
The 2018 Community Partnerships Day will be held on Tuesday 4 September from 9.00am to 1.00pm at the Maroochy Surf Club. The format of the 2018 CPW event will comprise:
