The Kindergarten is planning a “glowing theme” in support of Child Protection week and to increase community awareness about the importance of child protection being everyone’s responsibility within the community.

A light show will be created during the dedicated child protection week. The children will create drawings that will be projected onto projectors as part of a slideshow, and the children will also paint a ‘glow worm’ made out of recycled materials and glow in the dark paint, with the lightshow in the background. Hand painted glow rocks will also be set up like a glow worm outside the kindy. The glow worm will be on display all week, with the lightshow being held on the Friday night of Child Protection week.

During the dedicated week, an information stand will be established in the Kindergarten’s entrance to share resources and fact sheets from various organisations including Department of Child Safety, Seniors and Disability Services, Daniel Morcombe Foundation, and Bravehearts. The aim of this stand is to create awareness within the Alderley Kindergarten community regarding the services and supports that is available to those in need.
