We are like to invite Braveheart to visit our service with their early years Ditto Show. This incursion teaches young children the below mentioned principles which can help to increase resilience in young children and reduce the risk of child sexual abuse, as well as other forms of abuse including family violence and bullying.
o Differentiating safe and unsafe feelings
o Recognising the body’s warning signs
o Body ownership and that it is ok to say no
o Helping children name public and private parts using anatomically correct names
o Reinforcing that there is no secret that children cannot tell someone
o What to do if you feel unsafe or unsure
Braveheart’s teaching strategies, language and use of resources will also enhance the ongoing teaching approaches of the educators by modelling an age-appropriate high quality personal safety program we will be able to implement with future groups of children.
