Queensland Child Protection Week shares the important message that “protecting children is everybody’s business”.
Each year, artists design a special craft project to celebrate this message. This year, the project is inspired by the Lotus Flower.
The Lotus Flower is often thought to be a symbol of life’s ebbs and flows. The flower's ability to rise from murky waters into something beautiful makes it a powerful symbol of hope and perseverance. This incredible process is a reminder that as a community we must together support the safety and protection of children to ensure they reach their full potential.
Protecting children is a collective endeavour, so we invite community groups and organisations, schools, early childcare centres, families and carers at home to make and decorate their own Lotus Flower in the lead up to Queensland Child Protection Week.
Queensland Child Protection Week runs from Sunday, 7 September – Saturday, 13 September 2025.
The Queensland Child Projection Week Art Project is proudly facilitated by communify
