The Child Protection Week Family Fun Day raises awareness in the wider community, ensuring the message Protecting Children is everybody’s business is heard through our community. The day connects local families to a range of support services in an informal, fun, interactive and entertaining way. Services and activities will reflect the diversity of the region with cultural ceremonies and services participating in the event, they will also equip the local community with knowledge of services available to respond to children who have experienced or are experiencing child abuse, neglect or are at risk of.
Activities will include but are not limited to, children’s entertainment such as hula hooping, live music, clowns, balloon art, wildlife show, face painting, jumping castles, art therapy etc. Support Services all provide an activity at their display to engage families such as badge making, apple slinkies & sensory play. The event also includes a range of food vendors including a free sausage sizzle and music performed by local schools and artists.
