UnitingCare in collaboration with Benevolent Society, Yourtown, The Y, Queensland Health, Access and PCYC are organising a Child Protection Family Fun Day at a local park, aiming to highlight Community services and programs available to families living in the Logan City area. The targeted families will include families that might need some extra support with regards to parenting, domestic and family violence, mental health, and youth support to name a few. Our plan is to run a free event for families, with a focus on ensuring that everyone understands that protecting children is a community responsibility. This year event, we are organising a poster competition that will involve the young people from local high schools across the Logan region. The theme of posters will be “Protecting Children is Everyone’s Business”. We will be looking to showcase local young people’s talents, including dance group and DJ to perform in the event. Local community services will be invited to provide service information and fun activities for families to engage. Furthermore, there will be fun and free activities, food and giveaways for families, including face painting, obstacle course, mascot, instax selfie frame, haircut, pre-loved clothes, food parcels, sausage sizzle, popcorn, ice cream, etc.
