The Community Day will run from 10am-2pm and will be promoted through a community flyer on the CQID Website and Facebook pages as well as client visits and consultations. We will be running 30 minute rotational workshops and providing a BBQ Lunch. Child Protection Resources will be available on the day.
The 5 supportive people workshop will consist of identifying 5 safe people that the child or young person can go to if they are put into a negative or unsafe situation. This workshop will be delivered by Central Queensland Indigenous Development in partnership with Child Safety, Youth and Women.
The healthy eating and lifestyle workshop will consist of a hands on approach to preparing healthy food options and a healthy way of living.
The Cultural Connections Workshop will be run by the Local Traditional Owners, the Darumbal people. Will consist of making connections to family and giving the children and young people cultural knowledge.
