The project will take the shape of an event that will bring together key stakeholders in child protection and foster carers in the region – as well as Traditional Owner groups and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff members working in the community services sector. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness about the cultural resources that exist within the community that could be deployed by service providers to ensure foster carers they are supporting, understand that providing and maintaining cultural connection is critical to the well-being and long term safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander foster children in their care.
