Our Family Fun Day event is on Saturday 7th September. This free event runs from 9.30am-12pm at Cotton Tree Park in Maroochydore. The main feature of our event is local Mural Artists leading children in collaborative artworks. The question we’ll ask children for the artwork creation is “What helps you feel happy and safe?”. Children will then paint, draw, and write their responses on two large portable fabric murals. Throughout the year after the event, we’ll display these murals in local public spaces to raise awareness on how to keep our children safe, happy and well.

Fifteen local community organisations are hosting stalls with creative and tactile play activities for children. The organisations will have resources on child development and their free, local family support services.

We’re also having a free BBQ and entertainment including wildlife shows, stilt-walkers, roving superheroes, face painters, and bongo drumming. We’re giving away 10 prizes as an incentive for families to complete a short and anonymous survey about the event. The prizes include grocery gift cards, Kmart/Big W gift cards, age-appropriate toys, and family passes for local fun activities.
