The key child protection week event in the Gympie region in 2022 is the Little Kids Day Out. Held at the Pavilion and Gympie Showgrounds, LKDO  is a free community event that connects children and families with early learning programs, schools, support services, playgroups, sporting clubs, creative arts studios and businesses that support children across the Gympie Region. The event includes performances, creative experiences, displays, play, food vans and prizes. At LKDO, parents/carers join with their children in play activities, which strengthens communication and attachment.
