This year the Beaudesert QLD Child Protection Week morning tea will be for local professionals who work with some of the region’s most vulnerable families. It will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge their great work in keeping children safe and cared for. As professionals working in the community many of us have or may one day experience a child who discloses abuse. This powerful, crucial and for many life altering event is an important element of the work we do. But, for the vast majority of us what happens ‘after the disclosure’ is somewhat unknown. To help us peer behind the curtain our guest speaker will be from the Logan Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU). These highly trained, skilled and professional detective investigators are committed to protecting children across Queensland. Conducting investigations into all aspects of child abuse and child related crimes, this will be an amazing opportunity to learn how the CPIU plays its part ‘after the disclosure’.
Due to the serious and challenging topics that may be discussed the morning tea will be invite only.
