Queensland communities prepare for Child Protection Week

  • Child Protection Week is an annual state-wide initiative launched during the first week of September
  • Now in its 29th year, the week started in Brisbane and sparked a national movement to promote issues surrounding child safety and neglect
  • The week provides schools, businesses, community groups and government organisations with an opportunity to bring light to a very important message – child protection is everyone’s business
  • The aim of Child Protection Week is to promote the value of children, to bring the issue of child abuse and neglect to the minds of Queenslanders and to inspire community groups to get involved in prevention activities
