A Safe Space For After School

Youth 360 will host a free after-school “Safe Connections Afternoon” during Child Protection Week to support the theme, “Protecting children is everybody’s business.”
The event will provide a safe, welcoming and family-friendly space where children, young people, parents and carers can connect through fun activities while learning about child safety, wellbeing and local support services. The activity will be alcohol and drug free, inclusive and accessible to families within the community.
The afternoon will include a community afternoon tea, games, creative activities, child safety-themed craft activities,youga, basketball and opportunities for young people and families to engage with local services in an informal and supportive environment. Families will also have access to information and resources for available community supports.
Youth 360 will collaborate with local schools, community organisations and support services to encourage community participation and strengthen local networks that help keep children and young people safe. Young people will also be encouraged to contribute ideas and participate in activities to promote youth voice and engagement.
